oue
1. (noun) variety of harakeke from Te Tai Rāwhiti. Short, strong, straight, pale green blades with blunt points particularly on the young blades. Margin and keel are brownish orange. Few short kōrari with heavy, blunt seed pods. Very good all purpose harakeke. Some mature blades may be used for piupiu but not really a piupiu variety . Makes very strong kete.
tūtaewheke
1. (noun) variety of harakeke from Taranaki. Mature bush having an overall inky blue appearance. Medium to tall, with rather bendy blades. Black keel and margins on older blades, with dark, streaky bronze colourings on upperside. Tawny-red margins and veining in the young leaves. Not very good for muka.
kāhu pango
1. (noun) juvenile harrier hawk, immature harrier hawk (Circus approximans gouldi) - as the bird matures and ages the plumage changes from the blackish-brown of the juvenile immature bird to the pale greyish brown of the old bird.
