tioro

1. (verb) to scream, screech, make a discordant noise.

Ka tangi ana te kārearea i te rangi paki, he ua āpōpō. Ki te tioro te manu rā i te rangi pōuri, he rā paki ka whai āpōpō (Te Ara 2013). / If the kārearea (falcon) screams on a fine day, it will rain the next day. If it screams on a dull day, it will be a fine day tomorrow.
