1. (verb) (-ngia,-tia) to scold, admonish, reprimand, reproach, tell off.

Kāhore e tika kia haere ia ki reira, ā, e mōhio ana koe kāhore i te tika, nā reira koe ka tohe, ka kowhete kia kaua ia e haere (TP 10/1905:5). / It's not right that he go there and you know it's not right, so you argue and admonish him not to go.
