Koia tēnei te take i tahuri ai te iwi kāinga ki te kairiri ki a ia (TTR 1996:40). / At Te Kao, Ākenehi thought she should give strict instructions to her patients and if they refused to follow her instructions she would threaten them. This was the reason that the local Māori turned against her.
