1. (verb) (-a,-tia) to whisper, murmur.

Kua kōmuhumuhu mai te tamaiti nei ki a au. Ina tana kupu: "E pāpā, kua tawhito rawa ngā kākahu i homai nei e aku rangatira mōku. Kua kore ahau i mahana." (TTT 1/12/1923:1) / This child has whispered to me. These are his words: "Sir, the clothes my superiors gave me are too old. I'm not warm."
