Ko taua rū he mea nui rawa atu, ka mutu te rū ka āhua ngāruerue te whenua, he koata meneti pea te roa e rū ana (TWMNT 8/6/1875:125). / The earthquake was tremendous, terminating with the land shaking, and it lasted about a quarter of a minute.
