1. (verb) to be dry, parched.

Hakihea (Tīhema): Kua noho ngā manu kei roto i te kōhanga. (Ko tōna tikanga ko te hakihea he rite ki te mārakerake, ki te maroke hangehange nei. E kōrero ana mō te āhua o te whenua.)
