kāhua

1. (particle) somewhat, a little, quite, fairly, a bit - stands before the word it qualifies and has the effect of lessening the force of the meaning of the base it modifies. Variation of āhua.

Kua kāhua Pākehā tō rātou āhua (TK 1/12/1842:50). / They have come to look a little like Pākehā.
