1. (stative) be slim, slender, thin, skinny, lean.

He tangata āhua tūpuhipuhi noa nei, kāore i tino roa; he roroa ana makawe, kāore anō kia hina; he pangare te mata, ko tōna moko i te pāpāringa katau anake. Pīataata ana ōna whatu (TTR 1990:189). / He was somewhat lean and not very tall; his hair was long and not yet grey; the face was beardless and only his right cheek was tattooed. His eyes sparkled.
