1. (verb) to be perplexed, bothered, bewildered.

He hiakai pea i te roa o tana haerenga, hoki rawa mai kua āwhiotia, heoi tangi kai noa iho, nō reira pea i pōritarita te ngākau, tē āta waiho tana here ki tahaki, heoi waiho noa iho i te ara (TP 1/1913:4). / Probably because of the length of his journey, when he finally returned, having been taken on a roundabout route, he just cried out for food and perhaps was confused and did not leave his bird spear to one side, but just left it on the path.
