1. (verb) (-tia) to plunder, rob, loot, raid, ransack, pillage, steal.

He riri i ongaonga ai ki a Te Kooti, he kore nōna e mau. Ka tahuri ki te pāhuahua i ngā kāinga o Te Urewera (TTR 1990:272). / It was a campaign where they were frustrated with Te Kooti's elusiveness, so they turned to looting the villages of Urewera.
