pukā
1. (intransitive verb) to be eager, impatient, jealous.

2. (intransitive verb) to be overheated, out of breath, exhausted - due to exertion or emotion such as anger, fear, etc.

3. (modifier) eager, impatient, pationate.

4. (modifier) spongy, porous, honeycombed (of wood, etc.).
Waiho au kia pōaha ana, he rimu pukā, kei te ākau (M 2004:90). / Let me remain empty, like the porous seaweed on the shore.
