mōtī
1. (stative) be consumed, scarce, perished.
Ko ngā tāngata katoa o Hūra i te whenua o Īhipa, ka poto i te hoari, i te hemokai hoki, ā mōtī noa rātou (PT Heremaia 44:27). / All the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by famine until there be an end of them.

2. (stative) be surfeited, satiated, overfull.
Koia nei hoki taku mate. Ka whākana noa iho aku konohi ki te kai i ngā manu, i kī rā au, ka pau i a au ngā mea e toru, ko tētahi wāhi noa iho o te mea kotahi; mōtī tonu atu au (HP 1991:255). / This is my problem. When I see the birds, I say that I will consume three, but after only a part of the first one and I'm satiated.
3. (stative) be destroyed.
Whakapaea iho e rātou, ā mōtī ake i a rātou ngā hua o te whenua, ā tae noa koe ki Kāha, kīhai hoki i mahue tētahi oranga mō Iharaira, kāhore he hipi, he kau, he kāihe rānei (PT Kaiwhakariterite 6:4). / And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass.
