1. (intransitive verb) to be satiated, surfeited.

I te nui o ngā mate, pūpā ana a Ngāti Maniapoto i te kainga i te tangata, ā, whiua ana ngā tinana ki roto i te rua i runga o taua pā (NIT 1995:333). / Because there were so many dead, Ngāti Maniapoto were satiated with eating people, and the bodies were thrown into a pit at the top of that pā.
