1. (verb) to grumble, complain, moan.

Ko te tamāhine a tōna tuahine a Rangiwhakawaitau, ko Merehuka, ki te hari i a ia ki te kura. Kia hanguru ia, he hopu tonu mai tā Merehuka i a ia, e waha ana ki te kura (EM 2002:26). / The daughter of his sister Rangiwhakawaitau, Merehuka, took him to school. When he complained Merehuka would grab him and carry him to school.
