2. (verb) to prick repeatedly, vaccinate (a number of people).

2. (verb) (-ina) to prick, vaccinate.
Kia tere te tangata te haere ki te tākuta kia okaina ia kei hopukia ia e tēnei mate kino (TWMNT 17/7/1872:92). / A person should go urgently to the doctor to be vaccinated lest she/he contacts this terrible disease.
3. (noun) butcher's knife, dagger.
Nā te oka rā anō kātahi anō ka mate (HP 1991:20). / It was finally killed with the butcher's knife.
