puha
1. (noun) war dance - haka with leaping and performed with long weapons. Similar to a peruperu, using weapons but used to call kinsmen to arms.

pūhā
1. (noun) perennial sowthistle, Sonchus arvensis, sowthistle, Sonchus oleraceus, prickly sowthistle, Sonchus asper and Sonchus kirkii - small leafy plants with thistle-like leaves and milky juice. They are boiled and eaten as a green vegetable. Sonchus kirkii is the only one native to Aotearoa/New Zealand.
pūhā pororua
