Ka tīwaha atu a Te Whatanui ki a Ngāti Apa ki tōna hiahia ki te houhou i te rongo, me te kī taurangi atu e kore e kitea te kaikaiwaiū i tēnei take āna (TTR 1990:334). / Te Whatanui called out to Ngāti Apa that he wanted to make peace; with the promise that there would be no treachery.
