1. (verb) to groan, sigh, grunt.

Ka nguru noa a Tama i te pānga o te ringa o te rata ki tana puku, ahakoa te kino o te mamae (PK 2008:535). / Tama just grunted when the doctor touched his stomach, despite how painful it was.
