Ka warea ia ki te mōunu i ana matau, ka kamo ngā whatu o ngā tāngata o te ihu ki ō te tā, me ō te tā ki ō te ihu (JPS 1911:17). / While he was occupied with baiting his hooks, the men in the bow exchanged glances with those in the stern, and those in the stern with those in the bow.
2. (noun) bait.
I kī taku māmā ko te noke pai hai mōunu ko te tarawa (HP 1991:15). / My mother said that the best earthworm for bait is the tarawa earthworm.
