korowhiti

1. (verb) to whistle - with a bent finger.

Ka karanga a Kāwharu. He mea korowhiti tana karanga. Ko te kupu tēnei o tana korowhiti, ‘Ko wai au e?’ (Wh4 2004:103). / Kāwharu called out and his call was whistled. These were the words of his whistling, 'Who am I?'
