1. (verb) to be irritating, provoking, unsettled, restless, disillusioned.

I te wā e haere ana ngā rūri o ngā whenua o Ōpua, ka kārangirangi a Maihi ki te awe o te mana o te Tiriti o Waitangi i hainatia rā e tōna pāpā (TTR 1994:44). / At the time that the surveying of the Opua lands was under way, Maihi became disillusioned about the influence of the Treaty of Waitangi, which his father had signed.
