I roto i ngā horopaki whai tikanga, me mōhio te ākonga ki te huri tau tānga ngahuru hei tau noa, ā, ki te huri tau noa hei tau tānga ngahuru; ki te whakaawhiwhi tika i ngā tau; ki te whakaawhiwhi, ki te āta kimi mai i ngā uara o ngā pūtake rua (Pa 1996:33). / Within meaningful contexts the student should know how to convert standard numbers into ordinary forms and how to convert ordinary numbers into standard forms; to round up numbers; to approximate and carefully seek the value of square roots.
