1. (noun) recurring decimal.
Ko te tau ā-ira tāruarua: Arā ētahi hautanga kāore e taea te tuhi hei hautanga o te tekau, o te rau, o te mano, o tētahi atu taupūtanga rānei o te tekau. Ki te pēnei, ka tāruaruatia tētahi, ētahi rānei o ngā mati o te hautanga ā-ira. Ka tuhia he tongi ki runga ake i ngā mati e tāruaruatia ana (TRP 2010:268). / Recurring decimal: Some fractions cannot be expressed exactly as a fraction of 10, of 100, of 1,000, or of any other power of 10. In these cases, one or more of the decimal digits is repeated indefinitely. A dot is placed above the digits that are repeated (TRP 2010:268).
