1. (noun) midnight, middle of the night.

E whā ngā mati hei whakaatu i te wā-24. Ko te mati tuatahi me te tuarua hei whakaatu i te haora i muri i te weheruatanga pō. Ko te mati tuatoru me te tuawhā hei whakaatu i ngā meneti i muri i taua haora (TRP 2010:315). / There are four digits to show 24 hour time. The first two digits show the number of hours past midnight. The third and fourth digits show the number of minutes after that hour (TRP 2010:315).
