1. (noun) black petrel, Procellaria parkinsoni - an endemic seabird which is entirely blackish brown. Has a bluish-yellow bill with a dark tip. Seen only in the sea off the northern North Island. Breeds only on Little Barrier and Great Barrier Islands.
