1. (verb) (-na,-tia) to bear with fortitude, suppress one's feelings, be fully intent upon.

Ka haere te rongo o te taonga nei, ka tae ki a te Amohau i Rotorua; ka koromaki te whakaaro o te ngārara nei kia riro mai i a ia tērā taonga (M 2006:94). / The fame of this treasure reached Te Amohau at Rotorua; and the mind of that notable man became full of a desire to possess it (M 2006:95).
