inukorokoro

1. (verb) to be indolent, lackadaisical, inactive.

Tērā koutou e ui mai, "He aha te take i heke ai, i ngaro haere ai tērā iwi?" Taku kupu whakahoki, "Nā te mea i rere rātou i muri nei ki runga ki ngā tikanga māngere; ka tukuna noatia ō rātou hiahia, he inukorokoro tonu te mahi (TWMNT 28/7/1874:190). / Then you ask, "What was the reason that that nation declined and disappeared?" My reply is, "Because they later became indolent and just wanted to be lazy."

He inukorokoro ia, arā he tangata karo mahi, he māngere, heoi anō te mahi ka pahure i a ia, ko te kai. / He's a malingerer, in other words he's a person who avoids work, is lazy and all he's good for is eating.
