1. (stative) be pitted, full of holes.

He nui tā koutou i whakatō ai, he iti tā koutou i mau mai ai; e kai ana, heoi kāhore e mākona; e inu ana, te ngata i te wai; e kākahu ana i ō koutou, te mahana tētahi; e riro ana i te kaimahi te moni mō tana mahi, ā whaowhina ana e ia ki roto ki te pūtea kōputaputa (PT Hakai 1:6). / You have sown much, and bring in little; you eat, but you are satisfied; you drink but are not satisfied; you are clothed, but none are warm; and the worker earns money for his labour and he puts it into a bag with holes.
