kohuki

1. (verb) (-a,-tia) to think over, consider, speculate.

Tekau mā rua ngā hāora e kohuki ana te hūri, kātahi anō ka ū ki te whakataunga (Ng 1993:88). / The jury deliberated for twelve hours before reaching a verdict (Ng 1993:88).

2. (verb) to turn, set about.

Kātahi anō ka kohuki te whakaaro o te tamāhine ki te tito waiata māna (NM 1928:198). / Finally the daughter set about composing songs for her.
