I whakatūria he whakakitenga mō te haka me te poi: tērā tētehi haka hangareka, ko te 'Kiki te Poa' te ingoa, he haka i paingia e te wairua whakahuka, kaitaua hoki o taua wā (TTR 1996:126). / Exhibitions of haka and poi were held: one comic dance was 'Kiki te Poa' (Kick the Boer), appealed to the jingoistic spirit of the times (DNZB 1996:380).
