pūwhāwhā
1. (verb) to be rundown, dilapidated, partly decayed - especially of timber or things made of timber.
Nā te mea kīhai rātou i whai mana ki aua whenua, koia tēnā te take i pūwhāwhā ai te āhua o ngā whare (TTR 1996:166). / Because they did not have security of tenure to their land, their houses were rundown.
