1. (loan) (noun) bread, flour, dough.

Kāhore hoki te pāpā e mōhio ki te reo Ingarihi, engari e mōhio ana ia ki te reka o te parāoa i āta tunua (TP 5/1902:1). / The father might not understand the English language, but he understands the sweet taste of a carefully cooked loaf of bread.

parāoa

1. (noun) sperm whale, Physeter macrocephalus - a toothed whale with a massive head and narrow lower jaw, typically feeding at great depths on squid. It grows to 18 m. Also used as a general term for whales.
