tōpū

1. (verb) (-tia) to be assembled, in a body, as a group.

I muri mai ka tōpū te noho o Ngāti Manawa rāua ko Te Hikutū ki te kāinga o Thomas McLean, ka tangohia ana kau mā rātou, ā, ka hangā he pā mō rātou ki ana papa rākau (TTR 1990:57). / Later Ngāti Manawa and Te Hikutū lived as a group at the settlement of Thomas McLean, appropriating his livestock and building a pā with his timber planks.

Ko ngā tau tōpū ngā tauoti tōrunga, ngā tauoti tōraro, me te '0'. Arā, ko te huinga tau nei: {... -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3 ...}. Karekau he hautanga i roto i te huinga o ngā tau tōpū (TRP 2010:284). / Integers are the set of positive whole numbers, negative whole numbers and zero.
