Ko ngā mōrehu i oma; ētahi mā runga waka, ko ētahi i tītari noa atu ki rō ngahere, ora atu ētahi, i tū-ā-kiko ētahi, mate rawa atu pea ētahi (TWM 20/1/1866:1). / The survivors fled; some by canoe, some scattered into the forest, some survived, others were wounded, and some probably died.
