1. (verb) (-tia,-hia) to dry.

Ka mahia hoki tā rātou ake taura, he mea pāina ngā harakeke ki te ahi kia āhua maroke ai (JPS 1915:31). / They made their own rope, and scorched the flax with fire so that it was somewhat dry.

2. (verb) to warm oneself, bask, dry.
