Ko te tangohanga te muku atu i tētahi wāhanga o tētahi tau, huinga rānei. Ko te whiriwhiri i te rahinga ake o tētahi tau i tētahi. Ko te tāpiritanga te paheko kōaro o te tangohanga (TRP 2010:251). / Subtraction is taking away a part of a number or a set, or finding out how much bigger one number is than another. Addition is the inverse operation of subtraction (TRP 2010:251).
