pānga whakarea

1. (noun) multiplicative relationship (maths).

Ka kiīa tēnei he pānga whakarea nā te mea ka noho pūmau te tau whakarea i tētahi taurangi (2k) kia puta ai te taurangi tuarua (h). He rārangi torotika te kauwhata o tētahi pānga whakarea (TRP 2010:193). / This is called a multiplicative relationship because the coefficient remains fixed to a particular variable (2k) so that the second variable (h) appears. The graph of a multiplicative relationship is a straight line.
