tūmahi āhua

1. (noun) adverb - a word that gives information about an action or state.

Ki ētahi me he pūmahi te hoa haere (pēnei i te 'kua', i te 'e ... ana'), he tūmahi āhua te kupu tika ā, me he tūingoa te hoa haere, he tūāhua te kupu tika (HJ 2015:12). / To some people, if the accompanying word is a verbal particle (such as 'kua' and 'e ... ana') it is correctly called a 'tūmahi āhua' (adverb) and if the accompanying word is a noun the right word is 'tūāhua' (adjective).
