2. (noun) poor eyesight - especially resulting from breaches of tapu.

Mehemea ka haere koe ki te riri, ka pāngia e Tū-mata-rehurehu, ka puta koe i raro i ngā kūwhā o te ruahine, hai whakahorohoro tēnā i ngā hauhauaitu, i ngā hinapō (W 1971:51). / When you go to battle and are affected by Tū-mata-rehurehu, you will go under the thighs of the elderly woman, that is to free free you from the listlessness and poor eyesight.
