Ka kīia ko te tuakaihautanga o Tamanuiterā te rā he roa rawa ngā hāora o te awatea (arā, ko waenganui o te raumati), he roa rawa rānei ngā hāora o te pō (arā, ko waenganui o te hōtoke) (RP 2009:363). / The solstice is when the hours of daylight are the longest (i.e. the middle of summer), or when the hours of darkness are the longest (i.e. the middle of winter).
