1. (noun) hatching.

Ko te kauruku whakarārangi tētahi tikanga mō te kauruku. Arā, ka tāngia ētahi rārangi maha, taha ki te taha. Mēnā e tino pipiri ana ngā rārangi, kātahi nā te kitakita o te kauruku. Mēna he āhua wehewehe ngā rārangi, he tea ake te kauruku (RTA 2014:101). / Hatching is a method of shading. It is when many lines are drawn side by side. If the lines are very close together, then the shading is intense, but if they are quite wide apart, the shading is pale.
