Ka tukuna mai ko Kahukura, he pūrerehua; ka pākia e Māui, ka mate tērā (M 2006:206). / She sent her messengers to take away the likeness of Māui; that is, some of his blood, upon which she could exercise black magic. So she sent Kahukura the moth, and Māui slapped at it,and killed it (M 2006:207).
