Knight o te Tari Rūri Whenua (TTR 1996:97). / His fame spread for the part he played in the consolidation of Māori and Crown titles in the Urewera district, and so he acted as translator for Judge H.H. Carr and R.J. Knight of the Lands and Survey Department.
