Kua pai a Te Kāwana ki te mea, ko te wahapū e mōhiotia nei tōna ingoa ko Whāingaroa, ki te taha hauāuru, ka huaina tonutia ā muri ake nei ko Rakarana, ā me pērā tonu tōna ingoa ki ngā pukapuka katoa o te kāwanatanga (MM.TKM 15/3/1858:6). / His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to direct that the harbour heretofore known as Whāingaroa, on the west coast, be for the future named Raglan and referred to accordingly in all official documents.
