Ā ko te rā e kīia nei he Wēneti, he rā karakia ki te atua, ki a Wōtiri, koia i kīia ai he Wēneti, ā ko te Tāite, he rā karakia ki te atua o te Hakiana, ki a Tō, koia i kīia ai he Tāite (TW 22/6/1878:314). / The day called Wednesday was a day of worship to the god Woden, thus it is called Wednesday and Thursday was a day of worship to the Saxon god Thor, thus it is called Thursday.
