1. (noun) lower end of the spinal column, sacrum - a triangular bone formed from fused vertebrae and sitting between the two hip bones of the pelvis.

(Tr 1874:40). / Irawaru fell asleep. Then [Māui] pulled his ears to the lengthen them; he pulled the jaw; he pulled the arms and legs; and he pulled the lower end of the spinal columm into a tail. When completed, there lay a dog.
