2. (noun) eaves (of a house) - underside of a projecting roof.
He toa hikuhiku whare e kore e kawea te toa ki waho (W 1971:50). / A warrior under the house eaves will not carry his bravery outside. (A whakataukī suggesting that people who talk about their abilities at home are unlikely to produce them outside.)
