1. (noun) niniwa, Gaultheria oppositifolia - shrub to 2 m tall with numerous branches erect to spreading. Juvenile leaves are alternate, adult leaves approximately opposite and bluntly serrate. Flowers white and bell-shaped. Seed capsules dry and not fleshy. Found only in the North Island.
