Ko te wheiao tuatahi i puta mai i te wā i noho piritahi a Ranginui rāua ko Papatūānuku me ā rāua tamariki (Rewi 2005:16). / The wheiao is the place between the world of darkness and the world of light, but it is closer to the unfolding of the world of light. The first wheiao occurred at the time that Ranginui and Papatūānuku and their children lived together.
